Founded in the year 1965, by Late Mr. KK Damodaran, Ambika Hospitality group had a very modest transition from a meager Tourist Home to very successful group consisting of resorts and Ayurvedic rejuvenation centers. In the late sixties, when tourism was yet an unborn industry, Ambika Tourist Home at Thekkady was the only lodging facility available in the region. Progress was slow,but steady with new shops being opened at Thekkady for sale of original aromatic spices, ethnic handicrafts, tribal products, antiques and souvenirs. This attracted plenty of travelers and tourists during the late eighties when tourism industry was slowly blooming.

In the meantime there was a tremendous progress in the Tourist demand for Ethnic Ayurveda and Panchkarma treatments during the early nineties. Recognizing its viability at Thekkady, Ambika group initiated the “Ayur Thejus”, a massage and healing therapy center in 1993. This was first set up independently, but later on integrated as an annexure to Rangerwood nature castle, as a facility available to both resort guests and outsiders. All kinds of Ayurveda rejuvenation treatments are provided to the guests by medically certified massage professionals. A wide range of Panchakarma and Ayurveda therapies are performed using genuine Ayurveda medications and oils. These Ayurveda & rejuvenation centers acquired additional authenticity much due to the fact that it was solely a family holding and was managed by the wives of the four brothers and other family members. Shortly after its huge success, a similar branch is opened at Devikulam, as a part of Ambika Hospitality group expansion at Munnar.

Jungle Tree house within very close proximity of Periyar wildlife sanctuary. This enterprise was launched with its entire interior and exterior structure and design made to look and feel realistic as in wildlife.
